The fishing line serves as a basis for fishing tackle which connects all parts of equipment in a single whole. There are many types of fishing line: from soft to hard, of different elasticity, used to catch different species of fish. Today, this product is almost always made of artificial fibers, although sometimes there are still fly fishing silk cords. But this is a tribute to tradition and such cords are used by only a small number of fishermen in the world. There are monofilament fishing lines and multi-fiber, so-called braided cords. They differ in both production technologies and materials from which they are made. The main materials of monofilament fishing line are nylon, nylon and fluorocarbon.
